Editor, 91.5 FM WBEZ
Alexandra Salomon is an editor with the podcast team at 91.5 FM WBEZ, Chicago’s local NPR station. Her current projects include the investigative series Motive as well as Curious City. Previously, she was the senior producer for WBEZ’s daily global affairs program,Worldview. Prior to joining the staff of Chicago Public Media, she spent nearly a decade reporting overseas. She was a producer for ABC News, based in Rome, Italy. In Europe, she also reported for a number of other news outlets including The Boston Globe, The Economist, The Jerusalem Post and the BBC.
In 2006, she was awarded a Knight International Press Fellowship, which took her to Nigeria and Moldova, where she taught journalism courses to students at the International Center for Journalism in Chisinau, Moldova and worked with print, radio and television journalists across Nigeria. In 2001, she received both a Peabody Award at ABC News for team news coverage of the September 11 terrorist attacks and an Emmy Award at ABC News for investigative news coverage.
She holds an M.A. in International Affairs from Columbia University and a B.A. in Art History from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
